How to use your RFID Blocker Card
Using your RFID Blocker Card is simple. There are no batteries, apps or setup required.
- Place the RFID Blocker Card in your wallet alongside your credit cards, debit cards or other contactless cards.
- Keep the cards you want to protect within range of the RFID Blocker Card (1–2 cm).
- Leave the blocker card in your wallet; it works automatically whenever an RFID or NFC scanner comes within range.
- For larger wallets with cards stored in separate sections, you can use a second RFID Blocker Card for additional coverage.
That’s it. There is nothing to switch on, charge or pair.
How does an RFID Blocker Card work?
Contactless credit and debit cards use RFID/NFC technology to communicate wirelessly with payment terminals and other compatible readers.
When an RFID reader attempts to scan a card, it produces an electromagnetic signal that is normally used to communicate with a bank or credit card. The SecurityBase RFID Blocker Card draws energy from this signal to activate its internal blocking circuit, helping prevent nearby cards from being read.
The blocker card then interferes with communication between the scanner and nearby 13.56 MHz RFID and NFC cards, making it difficult for an unauthorised reader to obtain information from them.
Because it uses energy from the scanner itself, the RFID Blocker Card does not need a battery or charging.

Where should I put the RFID Blocker Card?
For a standard wallet, place the blocker card next to or amongst the cards you want to protect.
One well-positioned RFID Blocker Card is generally suitable for a normal wallet. If you have a large wallet or keep cards in separate sections, consider placing a blocker card on either side of your contactless cards.
How can I test the RFID Blocker Card?
You can easily test your RFID protection using a contactless payment terminal.
Place your RFID Blocker Card directly alongside your contactless bank card, then tap both cards against the terminal.
The payment card will not be detected while the blocker card is protecting it. Remove the RFID Blocker Card and your bank card should scan normally again.
What does an RFID Blocker Card protect?
The SecurityBase RFID Blocker Card is designed to help protect compatible contactless credit cards, debit cards, access cards and other 13.56 MHz RFID/NFC cards against unauthorised wireless scanning.
It is a simple way to add RFID protection to an ordinary wallet without needing individual card sleeves or a dedicated RFID-blocking wallet.
